The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notes that Norovirus is the most common cause of foodborne diarrhea and vomiting. To help reduce the risk for such an infection, the CDC suggests the following: wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, carefully wash fruits and vegetables before eating them, cook oysters and shellfish thoroughly before consumption, do not prepare food or care for others when you are sick, clean and disinfect surfaces regularly, and wash soiled laundry thoroughly.
