The Pettibon Weighting System consists of a specially designed head, shoulder and hip weight that patients wear twice daily for up to 20 minutes, based on their treatment plan. The amount of weight and its placement depends on the spinal misalignment that needs correcting

The nervous system always wants us to hold our head upright, and it has righting reflexes that continually send it skull and spin positional information. Wearing the weights alters the body’s centers of mass, causing the right reflexes to send new sensory information to the nervous system.
